The Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority (FASSET) invites top-performing learners from the Matric Class of 2025 to apply for the Special 2025 Matric Top Achiever FASSET Bursary.
Bursary Application Closing Date: 28 February 2026 (23:59 midnight)
Funding Period: 2025 / 2026 Academic Year
This bursary targets exceptional learners who achieved 75% or higher in their 2025 matric results and are enrolled (or accepted) to study finance, accounting, or related qualifications at a public university or university of technology in South Africa.
Important: This bursary is strictly for 2025 matriculants only.
About the FASSET Matric Top Achiever Bursary
The FASSET Matric Top Achiever Bursary is designed to support academically excellent learners from qualifying households to access higher education in scarce and critical finance-related fields. The bursary focuses on building future professionals for South Africa’s finance and accounting sector.
Selection Criteria
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Achieved a minimum overall average of 75% in the 2025 matric results
- Passed Mathematics and Accounting with strong results
- Come from a household with a combined annual income not exceeding R1,000,000
- Be registered or provisionally accepted at a public university or university of technology
- Be studying towards a qualification within the following faculties or fields:
- Economics & Management Sciences
- Auditing & Taxation
- Accounting Sciences
- IT-related qualifications
- Actuarial Sciences
Bursary Value and Coverage
- Funding is capped at R100,000 per annum for university learners
- The bursary covers:
- Tuition fees
- Prescribed textbooks
- Accommodation
- Meal allowances
