Ingrain Bursary South Africa 2026 ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER – INGRAIN Ingrain is one of Africa’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of high-quality starch and glucose ingredients, utilising non-GMO maize as their primary raw material. Ingrain supplies local and international markets, forming an integral part of the supply chain for a diverse range of industries. Their products are used in food (including baking, beverages, brewing, coffee and creamers, confectionery and general food) and industrial applications (including paper and building materials). In 2020, Barloworld completed the purchase of Tongaat Hulett Starch (THS), which was subsequently rebranded Ingrain. However, the companies history dates back to 1919, when The African Products (Pty) Ltd was established. ABOUT THE INGRAIN BURSARY – FIELDS COVERED Ingrain is inviting students to apply for their bursary programme, for the 2026 academic year . MORE ABOUT THE INGRAIN BURSARY The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: tuition fees, textbooks and accommodation (where applicable). The bursary will NOT provide cover for any outstanding fees. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by no later than 15 November 2025 and will be invited to attend an interview. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE INGRAIN BURSARY Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered): You must be a South African citizen You must be between 18 and 34 years old You must have completed Matric You must be studying towards a BEng degree, within one of the fields of study listed above You must be in your 1st to 3rd year of study You must be studying at a public University or University of Technology in South Africa You must NOT be receiving funding from another bursary scheme You must be unemployed You must have proven financial need and lack the financial means to pay for your studies Students living with disabilities are encouraged to apply HOW TO APPLY FOR THE INGRAIN BURSARY Students who meet the above criteria, may apply via email to: Recruitment@ingrainsa.com (Insert the words “Unemployed Youth Bursary” in the email subject line).
