About the Mezzanine Bursary Programme 2026
The Mezzanine Bursary Programme is an academic merit bursary aimed at supporting talented students who want to study Computer Science but may lack the financial resources to complete their studies.
This bursary is specifically designed for first-year students studying full-time at recognised universities in the Western Cape.
In addition to financial support, successful candidates will benefit from job shadowing opportunities and networking with professionals at Mezzanine, helping them build industry exposure early in their careers.
What the Bursary Covers
The bursary may cover:
- Tuition fees
- University accommodation
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen by birth
- Must be residing in the Western Cape
- Must be unemployed
- Must have passed Grade 12 with a minimum average of 65%
- Must be enrolled as a first-year student for full-time undergraduate studies
- Must be studying towards a Computer Science qualification
- Must be accepted at a recognised and accredited university in the Western Cape
- Must not be receiving any other bursary for the same academic year
- Must have no criminal record
- Must have a clear credit record
Required Documents
Applicants must upload the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Certified copy of South African ID
- Certified copy of Matric certificate
- Motivational letter
- Proof of registration or acceptance for the year of study
- Latest fee statement or quotation
- Proof of household income (latest 3 months payslips or affidavit if unemployed)

Bursaries will be awarded based on:
- Academic merit
- Financial need
- Mezzanine’s employment equity plan
