About the Rand Water Bursary Programme
The Rand Water External Bursary Programme is designed to support academically deserving students who are currently studying towards qualifications aligned with the organisation’s strategic needs.
Rand Water plays a critical role in South Africa’s water supply system, and this bursary aims to develop future professionals who will contribute to the sustainability of the country’s water resources.
Fields of Study Covered
Bursaries will be awarded for the following qualifications:
- BTech or BSc in Civil Engineering (1st or 2nd year)
- BSc in Water Science and Sanitation Science (2nd year)
- BSc Honours in Chemistry (2nd year)
- Diploma in Water Science and Technology (2nd year)
- Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) (1st or 2nd year)
- BSc or BEng in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (1st or 2nd year)
- Bachelor of Geomatics / Surveying (1st year)
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering (1st or 2nd year)
- BCom in Accounting (1st or 2nd year)
- LLB (2nd year)
- BSc Honours in Microbiology (1st or 2nd year)
- Masters of Public Health (2nd year)
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Rand Water External Bursary Programme, applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be from a previously disadvantaged background (ACI)
- Have passed Matric
- Be currently studying full-time in one of the listed fields
- Have a minimum average of 65%
- Not be receiving any other bursary or funding
- Be under the age of 35 years
- Be registered at a recognised tertiary institution
Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following documents:
- Certified copy of ID document
- Certified copy of Matric certificate
- Latest academic record
- Proof of registration for the current academic year
Incomplete applications may not be considered, so ensure all documents are included.
