SA Chefs Bryan Montgomery Bursary Fund South Africa 2025 ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER – SA CHEFS The South African Chefs Association (SA Chefs) is a non-profit industry body which represents talented chefs, cooks and caterers at all levels within the country. Founded in 1974, the Association currently has in excess of 9600 members, including cooks, chefs, restaurateurs, catering and hotel company directors, culinary educators, apprentices and trainees. SA Chefs plays a vital role in training and improving the standards of the hospitality industry. ABOUT THE SA CHEFS BRYAN MONTGOMERY BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED The South African Chefs Association is inviting students to apply for the Bryan Montgomery Bursary Fund, for the 2025 academic year . Bursaries will be awarded to young trainees studying to become chefs, for studies towards a professional cookery programme , preferably in Occupational Qualifications, Cook and Chef. With the backing of its generous sponsors, the South African Chefs Association provides a well-structured bursary fund designed to support aspiring chefs in their training. The Bryan Montgomery Bursary Fund selection panel carefully reviews all applications, and successful candidates will receive written notification within 2 months of the application deadline. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SA CHEFS BURSARY Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered): You must be a South African citizen and be residing permanently in South Africa You must be between 18 and 25 years old You must have completed Matric or a recognised equivalent qualification You must be currently enrolled in a recognised culinary training program, at a SA Chefs Skills Development Provider Member institution You must be studying towards a course that has a minimum duration of 12 months You must intend on pursuing a career in professional cookery You must be or become an SA Chefs Member once enrolled at the culinary school HOW TO APPLY FOR THE SA CHEFS BURSARY Students who meet the above criteria, may apply via email to: elsu@sachefs.co.za (Insert the words “ SA Chefs Bursary 2025 ” in the email subject line).
