ABOUT THE BURSARY PROVIDER – TOMORROW TRUST
The Tomorrow Trust is a South African non-profit organization, whose mission is to support orphaned and vulnerable children. The Trust aims to help needy students, through education and life skills, and thereby empowering them to reach their full potential and become proactive members of society.
The Trust’s programmes include: the
Holiday and Saturday School Programme
for junior (Grade 1 to 7) and senior (Grade 8 to 12) students, the
Tertiary Programme
which provides bursaries for various degrees studies at various institutions, the
Shift Programme
which aims to equip students with current skills needed in the workplace, the
“I am little wings” Programme
which addresses the education and psycho-social gaps in youth from orphaned and vulnerable households, the
Stepping Stones Career Programme
which aims to assist students with identifying and choosing a career path and lastly, the
Alumni Programme
which brings together all former Tomorrow Trust beneficiaries.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE TOMORROW TRUST BURSARY
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
You must be a South African citizen
You must be between 18 and 31 years old
You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric
You must be studying or intend on studying full-time towards an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, in a STEM field
(the bursary will NOT fund Masters degree studies)
You must be studying or intend on studying towards your first qualification at undergraduate or postgraduate level
(i.e. you must not be pursuing a second undergraduate qualification)
You must be studying or intend on studying at a recognised public university in South Africa
You must be a first-generation university student
(i.e. your parents must not hold a degree; except in the following cases: one parent attended university but did not complete their studies/ parents received study funding from employers (undergraduate, short course, diploma only)/ parents income is at R350 000 per annum (they must submit a declaration of expenditure)/ parents are SASSA recipients (they must submit official documentation)/ parents are self-employed (they must submit 3 month bank statements and an affidavit))
You must NOT be employed full-time
You must NOT be receiving any other full study funding, including NSFAS
(partial funding is allowed, but no credit bursaries; merit awards are allowed (donor-specific); if a student is successful in securing NSFAS funding they must choose either the bursary or NSFAS)
You must have a combined household income of LESS than R350 000 per year
HOW TO APPLY FOR THE TOMORROW TRUST BURSARY

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your online application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):
ID document (certified copy)
Matric latest results, if currently in Matric (certified copy)
Matric certificate, if completed Matric (certified copy)
Full academic record, if currently studying (certified copy)
Postgraduate students: certificates of qualifications completed (certified copy)
Proof of university registration
Parents or guardians proof of household income (latest payslips if employed/ affidavit if unemployed/ bank statements/ sassa grant letters if applicable, etc)
