About the Tronox Bursary Programme 2026
Tronox is offering bursaries to support students pursuing studies in key technical and science fields aligned with its operations in KwaZulu-Natal.
The bursary aims to develop young talent and contribute to community upliftment, particularly in areas surrounding Tronox KZN Sands operations.
Fields of Study Covered
Bursaries will be awarded for the following qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering (Heavy) (National Diploma / BSc / BEng)
- Geology (BSc)
- Information Technology (National Diploma / BSc)
Selection Process
Applicants may undergo:
- Psychometric assessments
- Background checks
- Medical examinations
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. If you do not receive feedback within 4 weeks after the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Have completed Matric
- Be studying towards one of the listed fields
- Be in their 1st year of study in 2026
- Not be currently or previously registered with any SETA learnership programme
Preference will be given to students from:
- Kwa Dube Area (Inkosi Dube)
- Kwa Nzuza Area (Inkosi Nzuza)
- Kwa Mkhwanazi (Inkosi Mkhwanazi)
- Ogagwini (Inkosi Zulu)
- Somopho (Inkosi Mthembu)
- Macambini (Inkosi Mathaba)
- Madlebe (Inkosi Zungu)
Or municipalities:
- Umhlathuze
- Umlalazi
- Mandeni

Required Documents
Applicants must submit:
- Certified copy of ID (not older than 3 months)
- Certified Matric certificate or results
- Proof of registration or acceptance letter
- 1-page Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Proof of residence from Traditional Council
