About the EV OEM/Automaker Artisan Workforce Development Programme
The Mpumalanga Regional Training Trust (MRTT), in partnership with EISOWAVE (Pty) Ltd, is offering a 2–4 year EV OEM/Automaker Artisan Workforce Development Programme based at the Nkowakowa Electric Bus Manufacturing Hub.
This is an on-the-job training programme aimed at developing skilled artisans for the fast-growing Electric Vehicle (EV) manufacturing sector, with the goal of supporting future workplace placement opportunities in the green economy.
Who Can Apply?
Applications are open to:
- TVET Level 4 or N6 qualified unemployed or underemployed artisan graduates
- EV Artisan Apprentices currently in college with no work experience
- Qualified artisans with up to 3 years’ experience in automotive or related engineering fields
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have a TVET Level 4 or N6 qualification in one of the following (or closely related) fields:
- Automotive Body Building & Spray Painting
- Welding & Steel Fabrication
- Fitting & Turning
- Automotive Electrician
- Electronics
- Upholstery
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mechatronics
- Chemical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Automotive Plant Engineering
- Warehouse Logistics
- Other related technical/artisan fields
Added Advantages
You may be prioritised if you have:
- Experiential training in automotive, mining, chemical, energy, rail, aerospace, steel, plastics, recycling, or logistics
- Up to 3 years industry experience
- Trade Test Certificate
- Driver’s licence
- Community development exposure
- Knowledge of EV technology, green economy, renewable energy, circular economy and AI
Stipend and Availability
- Sector-related stipends will be provided
- Applicants must be willing to work on-site and off-site as required
