Job Overview
GIBB is recruiting a Graduate Municipal Engineer to join its Integrated Infrastructure (WIIG) Sector.
This opportunity is ideal for engineering graduates who want to gain experience in civil infrastructure design, working on impactful municipal projects that support community development.
You will be exposed to real-world engineering work, including urban infrastructure planning, design, and project coordination.
Core Purpose of the Role
The Graduate Municipal Engineer will be responsible for:
- Designing and coordinating civil infrastructure projects
- Supporting medium to large-scale municipal engineering developments
- Delivering technical solutions for infrastructure challenges
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will:
- Design infrastructure such as:
- Roads
- Stormwater systems
- Water and sanitation networks
- Prepare and review technical reports and presentations
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems
- Develop technical contract documentation
- Investigate and recommend engineering solutions
- Work independently on project deliverables
- Contribute to both greenfield and brownfield projects
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A BSc Eng or BEng Degree in Civil Engineering
- 0–3 years’ experience in civil infrastructure design (advantageous)
