SAHPRA Internship Programme 2026/2027
The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority is inviting applications from unemployed South African graduates for its 2026/2027 Internship Programme.
SAHPRA is offering six internship opportunities for graduates who want to gain practical workplace experience in the health products regulatory sector.
Successful candidates will be appointed for a period of 12 months and will receive a monthly stipend of R16,666.66.
About SAHPRA
SAHPRA is South Africaβs national health products regulatory authority.
The organisation regulates medicines, medical devices, clinical trials, scheduled substances and in-vitro diagnostic devices.
SAHPRA was established under the Medicines and Related Substances Act to protect public health and ensure that health products in South Africa are safe, effective and of good quality.

SAHPRA has advertised the following internship positions:
Health Products Authorisations Unit
Number of Posts: 5 Internship Posts
Inspectorate and Regulatory Compliance Unit
Number of Posts: 1 Internship Post
These posts form part of the SAHPRA Graduate Internship Programme for the 2026/2027 financial year.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be South African citizens.
Applicants must be unemployed graduates.
Applicants must have never participated in an internship programme before.
Applicants must have a Matric certificate.
Applicants must have a National Diploma or Bachelorβs Degree in one of the following fields:
Natural Sciences, Health Sciences or a related field.
The qualification must be at NQF Level 6 or NQF Level 7 and recognised by SAQA.
Applicants with foreign qualifications must submit a SAQA evaluation certificate.
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will assist with administrative and regulatory functions within SAHPRA.
Duties may include allocating applications and query responses, updating databases and tracking systems, capturing evaluation reports and monitoring evaluator workloads.
Interns will also assist with tracking application statuses, compiling statistics and reports, supporting compliance checks and assisting during internal and external audits.
Other responsibilities may include liaising with internal stakeholders, managing records and supporting workflow administration.
Internship Duration and Stipend
The SAHPRA Internship Programme will run for 12 months.
Successful interns will receive a monthly stipend of:
R16,666.66 per month
