Siemens Energy SAICA Trainee Programme

Siemens Energy is offering a three-year SAICA Trainee Learnership Programme for candidates who have completed an accredited postgraduate qualification in Accounting.

The programme is based within Accounting and Controlling and is designed to train and assess participants in line with the SAICA CA2025 framework.

Successful trainees will gain exposure to both technical and professional competencies while rotating through different finance-related functions.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have completed:

BCom Accounting Honours (CTA)

or an equivalent accredited postgraduate accounting qualification.

What the Programme Offers

  • Controlling
  • Commercial business units
  • Accounting and financial reporting

Rotations will be tailored to the trainee’s development requirements while also meeting SAICA and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Trainees will assist with financial reporting and accounting activities, including preparation and consolidation of balance sheets and profit-and-loss statements in line with relevant accounting standards such as IFRS, GAAP and applicable local standards.

They may also assist with preparing annual financial statements, analysing assets and liabilities and producing reports for management.

Other responsibilities include account reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, technical accounting papers, IFRS interpretations and support to business units and colleagues in other African countries.

Accounting and Reporting Exposure

The programme may provide practical experience in areas such as:

Financial statements

Budgeting and forecasting

IFRS and technical accounting

Risk and internal audit

Tax

Management reporting

Financial controls

Commercial finance

Trainees may also work with systems and reporting processes such as Spiridon, ESPRIT and specialised Head Office reporting requirements.

SAICA Development Requirements

Successful candidates will be expected to meet all applicable SAICA learning requirements within the required timeframes.
