Bursary Overview

The Tirisano Construction Fund Bursary 2026 supports students pursuing careers in the construction and built environment sector.

This bursary is administered by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) and aims to assist financially deserving students while promoting skills development in critical infrastructure fields.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen
• Be under 35 years old
• Have completed Matric
• Achieve a minimum APS score of 42
• Be studying full-time in an approved field
• Be enrolled at a recognised South African institution
• Have a minimum 65% academic average
• Household income must be below R650,000 per year

👉 Preference is given to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, rural areas, and under-resourced schools

What the Bursary Covers

• Tuition fees
• Study-related expenses
• Financial support based on need

Required Documents

Applicants must submit:

• Certified copy of ID
• Matric certificate
• Latest academic results
• Motivational letter (max 2 pages)
• Proof of household income:

  • Proof of business ownership (if self-employed)
• Supporting documents (if applicable):
  • Death certificate (if parent deceased)
  • Divorce certificate or affidavit
