Internship Overview

West Coast District Municipality is offering 3 Financial Services Internship positions under the Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP).

This structured programme is designed to provide graduates with practical training and hands-on experience in municipal budgeting, finance, and treasury operations, in line with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA).

Key Details

• Department: Financial Services
• Number of Posts: 3
• Contract Duration: 1-year (renewable for another year)
• Salary: R96 000 – R144 000 per annum (all-inclusive)
• Reference Numbers: MM5 & FS3

Focus Areas

Successful candidates will gain experience in:

• Internal Auditing (1 post)
• Finance & Supply Chain Management (2 posts)

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• A 3-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in:
  • Accounting
  • Economics
  • Finance
• Including majors in:
  • Risk Management and/or
  • Auditing
• Be between 21 and 35 years old
• Willingness to sign an internship agreement
