About the Steinmüller Africa Apprenticeship Programme 2026

Steinmüller Africa, in partnership with Bilfinger Intervalve Africa, is offering apprenticeship opportunities aimed at developing skilled artisans within local communities near Kriel Power Station.

This programme combines theoretical training and practical workplace experience to help learners qualify as artisans in Boilermaking or Welding.

Programme Duration

• Minimum of 36 months (3 years) structured apprenticeship training

Apprenticeship Overview

Participants will:

• Complete merSETA accredited theoretical and practical modules
• Gain on-the-job training and workplace experience
• Prepare for and complete a trade test
• Qualify as a Certified Artisan (NQF Level 4) upon successful completion

Key Responsibilities

• Complete all assigned training modules and workplace tasks
• Participate in practical learning and production support
• Work under supervision of mentors and training officers
• Assist with site and production-related duties when required

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and Physical Science or N2 qualification
• N2 with relevant subjects (Mathematics, Engineering Science, Platers Theory, Platers Drawings) is advantageous
• Must be 35 years or younger
• Physically and medically fit
• Clear criminal record
• Must reside within a 50 km radius of Kriel Power Station in Mpumalanga
• Must be willing to relocate to Bethal if not currently residing nearby

• Grade 12 Certificate
• N2 Certificate and statement of results (if applicable)
• South African ID
• Proof of residence (municipal account or affidavit – mandatory)
