Product line manager (Purchases) / Produkreeks Bestuurder (Aankope)

Kern doel van die pos:

Om ’n mededingende, beskikbare en winsgewende insethandel-produkreeks, met spesifieke fokus op landbouchemie, kunsmis en saad, oor die OVK-groep se takke te bestuur. Bestuur die produkreeks, sentrale voorraadbeplanning, seisoenale aanvraag en verskafferkoördinering vir die groep.

Minimum Vereistes:

• Sterk praktiese en tegniese kennis van landbouchemikalieë, kunsmis en saad; verkieslik minstens 5 jaar relevante ervaring;
• Ervaring in produkkategorieë, verskaffers, pryse, seisoenale vraagbeplanning en voorraadbestuur;
• Ervaring met sentrale aankope, verskafferkontrakte en voorraadvoorsiening aan ’n landbouhandel-taknetwerk sal ’n sterk voordeel wees;
• Vermoë om produkspesifikasies, etikette, registrasiestatus, toepassingsvereistes en tegniese produkdokumentasie te interpreteer;
• Toepaslike landboukwalifikasie, kennis van toepaslike wetgewing en registrasievereistes (waaronder Wet 36 van 1947), AS400 en relevante bedryfsliggame sal voordelig wees.

Vaardighede:

• Sterk organisasie-, kommunikasie- en probleemoplossingsvermoë;
• Akkuraatheid, verantwoordbaarheid en die vermoë om onder operasionele en seisoenale druk te presteer;
• Diensgerigte ingesteldheid en goeie samewerking met interne rolspelers.

Verantwoordelikhede:

• Bestuur die daaglikse produkreeks, assortiment en produkdata vir landbouchemie, kunsmis en saad volgens die kategoriebestuurder se strategie;
• Beplan en plaas aankope vir takke en toepaslike sentrale voorraadpunte op grond van seisoenale aanvraag, minimum-/maksimumvlakke en leitye;
• Monitor voorraadbeskikbaarheid, voorraadouderdom, vervaldatums, uitverkopings en oortollige voorraad;
• Verkry en vergelyk kwotasies, bevestig leweringstye en volg bestellings met verskaffers op;
• Onderhou en hersien kostes, verkooppryse, produkspesifikasies, registrasie-inligting en verskafferdata in samewerking met administrasie;
• Koördineer nuwe produklyne, uitfasering, produkopleiding en promosie-inligting, met inagneming van toepaslike produk- en veiligheidsvereistes;
• Ondersteun takke en bemarkers met produkkeuses, tegniese navrae, seisoenale beplanning en kliëntkwotasies;
• Koördineer verskaffereise, terugsendings en kredietnotas met die Aankopeassistent;
• Lewer weeklikse uitsonderingsverslae en maandelikse prestasieverslae aan die Aankopebestuurder.

Core purpose of the post:

To manage a competitive, available and profitable agricultural inputs product line, with specific emphasis on crop protection products, fertiliser and seed, across the OVK Group’s branches. Manage the product range, central inventory planning, seasonal demand and supplier coordination for the group.

Minimum Requirements:

• Strong practical and technical knowledge of agricultural chemicals, fertilizer and seed; preferably at least 5 years of relevant experience;
• Experience in product categories, suppliers, pricing, seasonal demand planning and inventory management;
• Experience with central purchasing, supplier agreements and stock supply to an agricultural retail branch network will be a strong advantage;
• Ability to interpret product specifications, labels, registration status, application requirements and technical product documentation;
• Relevant agricultural qualification, knowledge of applicable legislation and registration requirements (including Act 36 of 1947), AS400 and relevant industry bodies will be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily product range, assortment and product data for crop protection, fertilizer and seed in line with the category manager’s strategy;
• Plan and place purchases for branches and relevant central stock points based on seasonal demand, minimum/maximum levels and lead times;
• Monitor stock availability, stock age, expiry dates, stockouts and excess inventory;
• Obtain and compare quotations, confirm delivery times and follow up on orders with suppliers;
• Maintain and review costs, selling prices, product specifications, registration information and supplier data in conjunction with administration;
• Coordinate new product lines, phase-outs, product training and promotional information, taking applicable product and safety requirements into account;
• Support branches and marketers with product selection, technical enquiries, seasonal planning and customer quotations;
• Coordinate supplier claims, returns and credit notes with the Purchasing Assistant;
• Submit weekly exception reports and monthly performance reports to the Purchasing Manager.
