About the merSETA Internship Programme
The merSETA Internship Programme is a structured 24-month workplace experience programme aimed at developing graduates across various professional fields.
merSETA is a Schedule 3A public entity established under the Skills Development Act to promote skills development in sectors such as manufacturing, engineering, automotive, plastics, and related industries.
Internship Overview
- Programme: Graduate Internship Programme
- Duration: 24 Months
- Locations: Parktown (Head Office) & Regional Offices
- Target Group: Unemployed graduates (18–35 years)
- Work Experience: Required (no prior internship experience allowed)
Monthly Stipend
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6): R10,000 per month
- Bachelor’s / BTech (NQF Level 7): R11,000 per month
- Honours / Postgraduate (NQF Level 8+): R12,000 per month

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens
- Be aged 18 – 35 years
- Be unemployed
- Have not previously participated in an internship programme
- Hold a National Diploma / Degree / Honours qualification in a relevant field
