City of Johannesburg Paralegal Internship 2026

• Position: Paralegal Intern
• Department: Group Legal and Contracts

• Duration: 18 Months
• Location: Metropolitan Centre, 158 Civic Boulevard, Braamfontein

Internship Stipend

• Completed Qualification (Minimum 360 credits): R10 109.86 per month
• Enrolled as a 2nd Year Student: R3 500.00 per month

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
• National Diploma in Law, Legal Assistance, Paralegal or related field (NQF Level 6)
• No previous work experience
• Must be a resident of the City of Johannesburg

Primary Function

The successful candidate will assist the Group Legal and Contracts Department with:

• Legal research
• Report writing
• Filing and preparation of legal documents
• Litigation administration
• Legal support services
• Coordinating legal and court-related processes

The role also involves supporting the City in minimizing legal risks and protecting municipal interests.
