About the NARYSEC Programme

The National Rural Youth Service Corps (NARYSEC) Programme was established by the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development (DLRRD) to address youth unemployment in rural and farming communities across South Africa.

The programme combines:

• Leadership development
• Community service
• Accredited skills training
• Work readiness preparation

Successful candidates will participate in:

• A 9-week Youth Leadership Development Programme
• Community service activities
• SAQA-accredited training through TVET Colleges and training providers

General Security Practices Learnership

Qualification

• National Certificate: General Security Practices (NQF Level 3)

Duration

• 12 Months

Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be between 18 and 26 years old
• Have Grade 12
• Be medically fit
• Have no criminal record
• Speak and write English fluently
• Be willing to relocate if required

Exit Opportunity

• Formal employment in the security industry

Laboratory Assistance Programme

Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be between 18 and 35 years old
• Have Grade 12
• Achieve:
  • 40% in Mathematics OR
  • 50% in Mathematical Literacy
• Achieve:
  • 40% in Life Sciences
  • 40% in English

Tracker Installation Short Skills Programme

Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be between 18 and 35 years old
• Have Grade 12

Drone Pilot Short Skills Programme

Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be between 18 and 35 years old
• Have Grade 12
• Have:
  • English Home Language
  • Mathematics
  • Computer subject
• Possess a Driver’s Licence
• Be able to drive a UDS Bakkie
• Be computer literate

Exit Opportunity

This programme provides exposure to modern drone technology used in sectors such as agriculture, mining, logistics, and security.

Domestic Appliance Repair Programme

Qualification

• National Certificate in Domestic Appliance Repair (NQF Level 3)

Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be between 18 and 35 years old
• Have Grade 12
• Have Mathematics and Physical Science
• Basic electrical knowledge will be advantageous

General Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be South African citizens with valid IDs
• Be unemployed
• Not currently studying
• Be medically fit
• Have no criminal record
• Reside within targeted municipalities and rural areas

• SAPS-certified copy of ID
• SARS Tax Number
• Proof of residence
• Updated CV with two contactable references

Certified copies must not be older than 6 months.
