North West Department of Education invites South African unemployed graduates and TVET students to apply for the Internship Programme 2026/27.

North West Department of Education Internship Programme 2026/27

The North West Department of Education has opened applications for its 2026/27 Internship Programme.

This programme gives unemployed graduates and TVET students an opportunity to gain practical workplace experience within the public sector.

The internship is aimed at young South Africans who have completed relevant qualifications but have not yet secured permanent employment.

Successful candidates will receive workplace training, exposure to government operations and an opportunity to strengthen their CVs while gaining useful skills.

Internship Duration

The internship duration will depend on the type of applicant.

Student Interns: 18 months

Graduate Interns: 24 months

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must be unemployed South African citizens.

Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35.

Applicants must be TVET N6 graduates, Diploma graduates or Degree graduates.

Applicants must have never participated in a Government Department internship programme.

Applicants must also have never participated in a SETA-funded internship programme.

Monthly Stipend

Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend paid according to their highest qualification at the date of appointment.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have the required qualification for the internship post they are applying for.

Applicants must be willing to work in the district or office where they are appointed.

Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae.

Certified copy of South African ID.

Certified copies of qualifications.

Academic transcripts, where applicable.

Proof of residence from a municipality or traditional authority.

SAQA evaluation certificate, where applicable, for foreign qualifications.

Failure to submit all required documents may result in disqualification.
